Frequently Asked Questions
A facial is a myriad of steps used to clear and rejuvenate the skin, as well as relax any muscle tension in the face. Facials include a number of steps, depending on the goal of the treatment, so there’s no one set ‘facial procedure’.
Most facials will include a combination, or at least one or two, of the following; cleansing, exfoliation, extractions (removing blackheads, etc), facial maks or peels, massages and moisturisers. We specialise in all these services over our packages, as seen above.
There’s no set number of treatment sessions you need, but on average, you can expect the ‘glow’ from your facial to last anywhere from 48 to 72 hours. The long term benefits, however, typically occur for as long as 28 to 45 days, improving circulation and cellular regeneration. We recommend scheduling a facial every 4 to 6 weeks to keep that healthy ‘glowing’ look.
Not every facial comes with a mask. We tend to use anti-aging peels or face oil treatment, as opposed to a traditional facial mask.
Our Pure Fiji treatments include select products from the Pure Fiji line, which help lift, exfoliate, firm and purify the skin. The Vitamin C facials are designed to increase vitamin C intake through the skin, inducing a healthy glow. The Resurfacing treatment uses natural glycolic and mandelic acids for a smoother, more radient complexion.
Getting a facial does not hurt at all. The cleansing process may induce a slight tingling as the pores are cleaned and skin comes into contact with air, without the barrier of the natural oily residue that builds over skin.
Yes, there’s no reason why you can’t wear any makeup following a facial session.
A facial helps remove dirt and clogged skin, softening and rehydrating the skin tissue. This can help arrest the process of scaring and wrinkling, even giving the appearance of ‘reversed aging’ in some cases. However, facials alone are not a permanent solution, although a consistent skin care routine can help prevent further damage or unclear skin.
