Frequently Asked Questions
Pedicures are for the feet, manicures for the hands. That’s the primary difference, as the treatment for both nail types are very similar.
A buff and polish is a good idea if you’re wanting to reshape your nails or ensure that your manicure or pedicure stands out. They’re not essential, but can really bolster your nail look, and come as add ons following your mani/pedi. We also include polish removal, if you’re wanting to get rid of any lingering polish from a previous application.
Paraffin dip or paraffin wax is a colourless solid wax which is used to soften the skin for salon and spa tratements, particularly around the hand, feet or cuticle area. This ensures that the mani/pedi procedure is more comfortable and can even decrease pains in joints, being a natural lubricant.
You can, but for accuracy and sheer pampering, we have some of the most qualified nail technicians in New Zealand, who can give you a perfect nail finish.
While false nails will give you the appearance of a proper nail treatment from a distance, a proper nail treatment definately looks better up close. They’re also easier to use, since they’re natural nails, and can last longer if maintained properly.
Not all nails have a perfectly symmetrical shape. Nails can also crack chip, causing one nail to look different to its neighbours. A buffering helps you achieve the perfect nail arch or squared look by shaping the nail to your desired look.
Only one, as all nails can be completed at once, although hands and feet are treated separately.
You can apply more nail polish, as a top up or to change colour, although a proper nail polish removal session will take your nails back to square one, without any ‘bumps’ or previous nail colouring peaking through the new top coat.
